Went to see the excellent Ross Noble last night. He was great, especially when poking an orphan, and doing his Road Runner Pope impression, although I wasn't too sure about the whole rectal-parsnip-ejection bit. Bloody funny. Harry nearly died (well, okay, not really) because her inhaler was at the bottom of her handbag and he made her laugh so much she had an asthma attack. Still. Comedy's all about taking risks.

The only thing that let it down were the hecklers, who appeared to entirely consist of those totally out-of-it freakshows who just scream incoherent shite, and then go completely silent when the guy asks them what they said. Which is a real shame, as Ross always copes very well with hecklers -- he can riff on anything, and a good heckle can produce half a show's-worth of comedy routine. Ho hum. Maybe I should practise my heckling and try and get in there myself next time...

Anyway. I didn't set my alarm, so it's now time to dash off for the late ferry, otherwise I'll be forced to use a _bus_, or something equally squalid...

Yeah, it was great. It's definitely worth seeing him live if you can manage it -- he's got a couple of good DVDs out, too, of excellent live shows.
