It may be a long, noisy day

gothickSo, the guy to lay the screed on my concrete floor has turned up, had a shufti, said "those tile's'll need to come up", and gone away to get six bags of latex screed.
I'd kind of assumed this would be the case, and it's reassuring that he mentioned the tiles coming up in such a matter-of-fact fashion -- this is a job I've been avoiding since I lifted my carpet one day, about eight years ago, to find out why it was uneven. I had a quick go then, and made hardly a dent in the things. Then again, I was armed with a cold chisel and a clubhammer; I've a feeling he's going to return with a Kango.
But anyway, yes, I've now been disabused of any idea I had of quietly getting stuff done in the bedroom while Concrete Guy (whose I should now start thinking of as Mark, now I've met him, I suppose) quietly trowels out latex screen in the lounge.
When he's back, I may just show him where the tea, coffee and Hobnobs are, and go check out the Banksy exhibition that's on in Bristol Museum.
