Oh, and in further news, I'm up for an interview to see if I can keep my own job, probably next week. I'm not particularly worried, mind, but it's irritating, especially as I've got enough bloody work to do at the moment without lots of fooling about with meta-work. And the rest of the department, all of whom are facing the same thing, are rather more worried, from what I've seen.
Someone mentioned that the interviews would be about 90 minutes long. I'm not sure I've ever been in an interview that's even approached an hour before. Hmm. Well, if I've got to be interviewed no matter what, then maybe I should take a look on JobServe and see what other jobs are going in Bristol. Come to think of it, I can probably worry my boss quite a lot by taking a random morning off next week. Hmm....

Date: 2008-03-13 09:11 am (UTC)Would definitely make sure you're aware of what else is out there even just to know market rates. Doesn't mean you can get a raise but it helps to remind them sometimes that they are getting a lot of brain/skills for their money.
And LOVE the idea of half day off.... you should totally DO IT!
