I love the smell of Hotpoint in the evening

So, like, is it normal for a new washing machine to smell quite strongly of burning plastic on its first few cycles? Or should I be starting to worry?

Hmm, everyone else seems to be worrying, but I was going to say that in my experience, just about every new appliance from vacuums to microwaves smells odd the first few times you use it.

Remind me of that when our house burns down just after we've bought a new dishwasher, eh??!!

Yeah, well, I'm sitting here in a nice fluffy newly-tumble-dried bathrobe and feeling very domestic, and the house hasn't burned down yet, so hopefully odd smell is gone for good :)
