I love the smell of Hotpoint in the evening

So, like, is it normal for a new washing machine to smell quite strongly of burning plastic on its first few cycles? Or should I be starting to worry?

Well, I'm still vaguely wondering, but I guess as long as the smell doesn't come back, and it carries on doing its job, I'll probably be suitably reassured in a few loads' time.
