Braindead

If I sit for much longer practising guitar and watching all the TV I've taped this week, my head will explode.

Still, the good news is that I've got Tears in Heaven down fairly well, so now I can move on to the two new ones my teacher showed me on Thursday, heading back into some good ol' fashioned blues territory with some Jimmy Smith and T-Bone Walker. <jazz voice>Nice.</jazz voice>

And, in a couple of hours I can stroll down to the harbourside and watch these guys perform "A mischievous pyrotechnic performance", which sounds pretty interesting and apparently involves 20-foot flames and magic...

Cool.

And then I can have dinner, for which (look away now, vegetarians) I've bought some wild boar and apple sausages. Mmm Mmm Mmmm.

I still need to do some kata practice, but that can wait until tomorrow.

Fireworks

Tonight I learned two things:

1. The World Famous put on a silly, ramshackle and very splendid pyrotechnic show. Recommended if they're coming your way any time soon.

2. Converse All-Stars, while being great shoes in general, really aren't great for standing around outside when it's below zero. Think I might be shopping for winter boots tomorrow. Brrr.
