Hall

Today, I have mostly been brightening up the hall. Good progress, especially as it needed a coat of PVA first, to stabilise a rather flaky surface. Will need another coat tomorrow, and I need to get some new skirting board, but I feel pretty accomplished.

It's not bad. I think I'm going to change the colour, though, and go for plain white -- the Ivory Lace that looks good in the lounge is too yellow in the hall, I think because of the lack of natural light. Still, at least the leftover tub of Ivory Lace has gone to a good cause, because I'd have needed two coats of anything to cover that blue...

Pure brilliant white can be great in small, gloomy spaces. We used it in our bathroom - transforming it from a manky avocado/terracotta/beige mishmash to a much smarter, brighter and bigger-looking room.
