• If your boss doesn't recognise your voice when you phone in sick, that's probably not a bad thing. On the other hand, why would Barry White have been calling him, anyway?


• Twenty hours of yet-unlistened audiobooks makes a great alternative to daytime TV

It's quite scary. This is the first time I've watched TV for any length of time in ages. It can't have got _this_ much worse. I guess my taste centre must have reset itself in the meantime.

Time to look through my DVDs, I think.

Oooh, on the other hand, early evening TV is looking up. WarGames is on Film4. There's a piece of cinema I can happily watch over and over again.
