I just helped herd a recalcitrant swan out of the road, where it was squaring up to a bus, refusing to move. I had my camera with me, dammit, but I figured that the poor woman who was singlehandedly doing the job when I arrived would rather have some help than another spectator. Mission accomplished and bus on its way, it was the kind of event that puts a spring in your step, when successfully handled before breakfast...
