Who can remember...

...what that TV show was where someone would try to pass themselves off as a professional at a career they'd only been learning for a day or two? (BBC? Maybe Chris Searle?)

EDIT: Problem solved, it was In At The Deep End. Thank you, O Lazyweb, that worked far better than Google..

Faking it?

The one with the welsh cleaning lady who passed herself off as a Burlesque Dancer was really good. Possibley something to do with the statuesque beauty they had training her might have held my attention :-P

Oooh, I hadn't heard of that one; it was In At The Deep End that I was thinking of, but Faking It looks like someone refreshed (i.e. stole) the idea in a later decade...
